Tiny Tear was founded by Tine Solkær Reingaard, a Danish filmmaker specializing in directing, film photography, and editing.

Tine is based in Copenhagen – her home and the starting point for all adventures in her life.

Since she was very young, she has had a desire to express herself creatively. She has played music since childhood and holds a degree in Music Science. This grounding in music significantly influences her approach to filmmaking, shaping the way she conceptualizes and edits her films.

She thrives in the intersection of the commercial and the artistic, and she loves to collaborate and explore.

Her path as a filmmaker commenced when she lived in Berlin, where she produced video interviews with various bands.

Subsequently, she ventured into documentary filmmaking, eventually expanding her repertoire to include music videos and a diverse range of corporate projects.

Alongside these endeavors, she consistently works on her own artistic projects, which have garnered global recognition through exhibitions worldwide.

Over the years, she has had the privilege of collaborating with esteemed artists such as New Order and Arctic Monkeys. Moreover, her work has been showcased in renowned museums and galleries across Kyoto, Los Angeles, Copenhagen, Kanazawa, and Sydney.

Her educational background encompasses studies in Berlin, Bolzano, and Copenhagen, equipping her with fluency in four languages.

Tine holds a Master of Arts from Copenhagen University, as well as diploma degrees from the Danish Short and Documentary Film School and Jørgen Leth’s private film school, Ecole de Leth.

Tine, why is your company called Tiny Tear?

Because ultimately what I strive for with my work is to evoke those subtle emotions. I want to make you feel something. Shed a tiny tear.

I believe that emotion is the royal road to ourselves. When the things we look at and listen to make us something, we become more present in ourselves.

This presence paves the way for inner peace and for empathy towards others. Perhaps we become better human beings.
